A gorgeous 1930s heavy men's overcoat in blue overcheck Glen Plaid tweed. The grey, black and blue work together for a cool toned effect. The lapel style is known a lazy lapels or "fishmouth" lapels, and each has a working buttonhole. While these are probably a decorative element, a hidden button could be added, allowing the coat to worn closed to the neck, perfect for cold and snowy weather. The shoulders are not padded, but are beautifully structured for an elegant line. The closure is double breasted - intended to be a three on two closure. The pockets are all functional, lined in sturdy cotton. The coat itself is half-lined with quilted cotton, and the internal selvage is tape finished. It's definitely a beauty!
This coat is an exceptionally heavy 5lbs, 10ounces, and I have built some portion of the shipping costs into the price to account for its deviation from average.

This coat has been professionally dry cleaned and is ready to wear. The bottom two buttons are missing. The texture of this coat is somewhat varied from wear - I just can't decide if I think some areas have had the top layer of tweed fuzz worn off, exposing the details of the plaid, or if some areas are have surface felting, from wear in the rain. The last photo shows a notable example, comparing the underside of the collar to the chest pocket area. That said, this doesn't really detract when worn, but it's definitely best for someone who is understanding about vintage imperfection. There are four moth chews - one divot on the upper back left shoulder, one hole just by the hem on the far right, and one surface nibble along the same area of hem, and one only seen on the inside, which is on the internal wool that backs the righthand pocket. There's also a previous repair to an L-shaped tear the back center, but to be honest, I found it with my fingers- it's very nearly invisible. I find no other issues to note. This is a coat that still has decades of service to give!

Yes, it is. All items larger than the form are pinned too represent their accurate fit and shape. We are careful to accurately represent the actual cut of the garment. Don't rely on the size of the model in any way.
I allow returns or exchanges in only rare occasions - only when I have made an egregious error.
You must contact us with 48 hours of receiving your order if you have an issue, and if an exchange is approved, it must be sent within 48 hours after our communication. Items purchased and worn for special events may not be returned - we are not a rental facility. No refunds are issued based on issues with the fit of a garment, please measure carefully and feel free to make inquiries if you need help with sizing.
Vintage lingerie cannot be returned or exchanged, due to its intimate nature. Clearance items, items noted "as-is" and items sold on layaway may not be returned or exchanged.
Only accessories original to the piece and specifically described in the listing are included with purchase. All contrasting belts, necklaces, scarves or other items on mannequins or models are for inspiration only and are not included. All included pieces, including original self-fabric belts will be clearly and explicitly described in the listing.
