1920s Wedding Gown - Darling Mid 20s Wedding Dress in Lustrous Silk and Lace with Pastel Flowers - Entire Family Trousseau with Provenance

Introducing the wedding gown of Addie Smith White, married 100 years ago today,iin 1925. Before we move onto the dress, here's what we know from her family:
"Addie Smith married John White on Valentine’s Day, 1925, in North Dakota. She married the love of her life." (That's 100 years to the day, on the date this is being listed for sale)
"She was a long-time elementary school teacher in North Dakota and later central Oregon, where she and John eventually moved for “warmer climes”. They had two daughters and were very happily married for 54 years.
Her family, friends, faith, pets, home and garden were her passions."
I don't know if there's anything more special the vintage bride could ask for than a dress that was worn by a bride who had genuinely had a happy marriage. This dress was used another family member later on, probably in the 1960s, although we don't know who that was, but they added pieces to this trousseu, and made repairs to the dress.
A true mid-1920s design, the details help confirm the family's dating. It is almost certainly homemade, with the utmost care. It is made of a lustrous oyster silk satin, of a quality you just cannot find today. It is lined in cotton. Short sleeves drop from the shoulder, becoming pleated puffs. A very fine silk net machine lace, created in a border style, softens the shoulders and and the skirt. Ruching at the sides of the bodice works with the shorter internal lining to create a draped effect. The waist is only slightly dropped. The really special element of the dress is the hand tied pastel flowers that circle the drop waist and neckline both, in mint, peach, purple and pink silk chiffon. Two drapes of silk hang down the back. A headband of silk is trimmed with more pastel flowerrs. (It's so special that it has been kept with the dress all these decades!)
That's not all, though. The trousseau comes with the headband, the leather shoes she wore that day (and likely, wore a good deal more after) and her slippers. The next bride added a pastel blue satin garter with silk tulle and a satin ring pillow.
This dress goes on over the head and has no closures.

This dress is sturdy with existing repairs. There's some staining and shredding to the underarms. The previous bride removed some damaged material from the right underarm arm, and patched both underarms from the inside, and stitched that area down to the lining. This is quite hidden when worn, both the placement under the arm, and by the deep lace. That said, with the buyer's permission, I can make further repairs, see note below. Please write for photos.
I used ultra fine kimono silk thread to mend a mostly clean 4" tear to the lace at the back left shoulder, but two frayed points do have little holes remaining - you'd have to be looking carefully to see this. There is a tiny mark by the right chest. I found two small spots on the back left of lace collar, and one more at the center front below the drop waist.
If the buyer so wishes, I could use some of the length from the drapes at the back to do more professional patching to the underarm area, in perfectly matching, original material. This would be my first choice, but as this is consigned by the original owner's family, the work would have to be requested by the buyer, although it would be done at no additional cost.

Yes, and you've got options! Klarna is a service available for all items on Etsy to buyers from some countries. Additionally in-shop layaway is available for items over $100. Items between $100 and 300.00 may be set up on a two part, 30 day layaway. Items over $300 may be put on three part layaway plan, with length determined by value. Items over $1000 may be put on four part plan, typically for 90 days. Layaway cannot be combined with sale prices, coupons or other discounts. Customers may put more than one item on Layaway, but the prices cannot be combined to extend the duration.
